Director's short bio

I was born and raised in Athens(1984) where I ended up studying German literature at the Faculty of Philosophy. When I was 18 I got access to a webcam and I started shooting everything around me. As a result, I created a feature film in 2006 which was included in the digital section of the 47th Thessaloniki International Film Festival. That was the very beginning of my thorough involvement in cinema, and that was the reason why I continued shooting short-films which were included in various Greek festivals. In 2008 I attended a script-writing workshop at LUDENS LABS by Haris Mihalogiannakis (assistant director of Stavros Tsiolis), who was trying to explain to me that making a movie is not a one-man job. Following his suggestion, I decided to dedicate myself exclusively to direction and in 2011 I registered in the direction faculty of the Metropolitan College AKMI with Euthimis Hatzis as the Program Manager. There,the images I had in my mind were combined with the study of academic cinema techniques and analysis which resulted in projects shot for the college. Most of this work has been included in international film festivals in Greece and abroad. As a reward for my efforts to express myself through film making, I was given a scholarship (2012) to participate in the program “Cinema” of Athens New School, with Nicholaos Pottakis and Athina Tsaggari as Program Managers. At the present time I am about to accomplish my studies on cinema whereas with the support of friends and colleagues I am trying to create my own worlds through the cinematic frame.
