Synopsis

Nikos is a fisherman and hunter by profession and owes a restaurant with his brother on the greek island of Thassos. Yet the biggest love in his life is rebetiko music and his biggest inspiration, his relationships with women.The film is a portrait of a romantic man, and of the culture of his family, who escaped Turkey a century ago.

Director's statement

I met Nikos while traveling through Greece. I fell immediately in love with his music and deep voice, his secrets, values and culture. Nikos was so sincere and open to me as a filmmaker as I had rarely seen before and I believe his story is worth sharing, especially for those interested in the rebel music rebetiko .

Director's short bio

Ilina Perianova is an actor and director from Sofia/ Bulgaria. She has done and studied theatre for many years. Currently she is finishing her MA in Fiction film directing in Baltic Film and Media School in Estonia.
