Director's statement

“5 Ways 2 Die” is a sociopolitical allegory about a country’s governmental system based on fake appearances (wearing masks). Makis, our anti-hero, is looking for a way to end his misery in a household based on lies and pretentious appearances. Corruption is inevitable when the rules and laws do nothing to prevent it. In such cases the lines distinguishing the sinner from the victim are blurred- if not inexistent.

Director's short bio

Daina Papadaki fell in love with cinema from a young age. She graduated with honours and a BA degree in Visual Communications from Hawaii Pacific University and an MFA (Masters in Fine Arts) in Motion Pictures Production/Directing from University of Miami. She has gained professional experience in direction and production of cinematic, music, advertising and corporate videos. She has directed 200 hundred TV commercials and 13 short films that brought her many distinctions.
