Synopsis
A little boy follows a butterfly and stumbles upon a woman in the woods.
Director's statement
"Butterflies" is a metaphor for the semantic couple with antonym value, namely childhood and adulthood. It is a metaphor for a world, which is getting more and more cruel and materialistic. A world where beauty is "collected" and child innocence is buried too early.
Is there a proper time for children to grow up? Can people preserve their inner child, or does it have to vanish completely? What is the reason behind loosing your inner child?
Director's short bio
Natural and artificial, freedom and captivity, childhood and adulthood, morality and immorality, are the semantic couples with antonym values which inspire me and my works.
I studied BSc Psychology at the University of Nottingham and graduated with honors in 2014. After that, I enrolled in a Masters degree Film and Television arts at New Bulgarian University, Sofia.
